"Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done" - Justice Louis Brandeis
The Jewish Teen Foundation is a program of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, which researches serious world problems and works to support Jewish and secular non-profit organizations that help rebuild the world. I joined JTF because I feel morally obligated to be part of that group that helps rebuild the world.
This year, our mission is to fund organizations that promote positive social change by protecting the environment and responding to the needs of people affected by environment problems locally, globally, and in Israel.
Did you know:
- In Sonoma County the recent wildfires destroyed 6,600 structures, including 5,130 homes, including 1,500 homes and more than 600 businesses and secondary buildings, including sheds and barns, in the Rincon Valley, Mark West and Larkfield-Wikiup area. according to Cal Fire
- Diversion of 96 percent of the Jordan River’s fresh water and the discharge of large quantities of untreated sewage is irreversibly damaging the Jordan River Valley
- On September 1, 2017, one-third of Houston was underwater with two feet of rain falling in the first 24 hours, forcing 39,000 people out of their homes and into shelters
- 2.2 billion tons of waste are dumped into the ocean every year
All of these facts are unacceptable and need to be fixed in order for our world to be a better place.
My fundraising goal is $2000 and I would greatly appeciate any donation.
Thank You!!!
