Birds Need Love too

This rescue has taken in, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 4000 exotic birds since 2011.  We want to continue the same for this year and many years to come.  Sadly, we have gotten some birds that were so far gone there was nothing we could do and they passed.  But they passed in the arms of love.  We try to get people educated before buying these magnificent birds.

The latest bird rescue was an EMU that had been at the animal control for more than a month.  Lemu is her name, and she has turned out to the friendliest of the place and loves everybody.  I am in the process of harness training her to walk with me and taking verbal commands.  She cuddles with me and loves it when I bring her treats.

All birds that come here get tamed because if you can't make it part of the family, why have it.  If you just put it in a cage, eventually they will go cage crazy and that is when they come to us.  I want all exotic birds to have the opportunity to be loved.    

I have completed a self-help book on Taming, Training and Care of Exotic Birds.  I hope to have it published soon and available soon.  I am starting another also that will delve deeper into the bird's behavior and ways to change them without alienating the bird.

Your donations go directly to the care of the birds.  Nobody, including myself, gets paid here. People who want a bird and have never had one will have to volunteer to learn care, feeding and handling these birds.
