Many of you are probably like me in that I was a child of PBS.
I grew up learning numbers from The Count on Sesame Street, laughing at Cookie Monster and talking back to Mr. Rogers during his show (because it was CLEAR he was speaking directly to me 😊).
The landscape for this incredibly vital resource has changed – and changed dramatically – in the last couple of weeks. If there was ever a time for you to show your support of quality public broadcasting right here in Kentucky, it’s now.
There are a lot of things we say about our network which are points of pride – how more than a million people every week access our resources, how our educational programming is used in every single school district in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, how we are the only statewide broadcast network in Kentucky, and how our infrastructure provides backup emergency communications to vital services for everyone from the KY State Police to the Secret Service and FEMA.
But here's the fact that always jumps out at me - more than 50% of our daily broadcast schedule is commercial-free and geared toward children under the age of five.
Whether it's our children's programming, our public affairs shows or our Emmy award-winning series Kentucky Life, these are shows you won't find anywhere else. And they are literally under direct threat due to a massive loss of funding.
Please help us show your support for the vital service we provide right here at home!
