The Maritime Skills volunteers are a crucial part of the Alexandria Seaport Foundation (ASF), offering Apprentices a truly unique, hands-on experience out on the water! This dedicated crew teaches the timeless arts of sailing and rowing, using vessels lovingly built and maintained by Apprentices and volunteers. They also provide instruction in essential boat maintenance, a valuable skill in any era.
This year, our Maritime Skills volunteers are competing in a fun Spring2ACTion fundraising Challenge against the Woodworkers and Boatbuilding crews. They are vying for well-deserved bragging rights—and, more importantly, to raise essential funds for ASF programs.
You have an amazing chance to double your contribution! Thanks to the great generosity of longtime ASF supporter Judy Carter, in memory of her late husband and Seaport volunteer David Painter, every donation made to the Maritime crew’s Challenge will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $10,000.
