Alexandria Seaport Foundation works with young adults (ages 18-23) that need support to move forward in their lives and to navigate past barriers to more productive and brighter futures. Many are having difficulty finding their place in the world as they move from adolescence to adulthood.

Our Apprentice Program. By introducing Apprentices to woodworking, traditional boat building, on-the-water navigation, life skills classes, and individualized mentoring, they begin to develop confidence, discipline, resiliency, and problem-solving skills. The Program creates pathways to employment opportunities, trade schools/apprenticeships, or post-secondary education.

Our Community. Staff, volunteers, and Program Graduates work alongside Apprentices, helping them discover the connection and community support they need to start transforming their lives.

Our Graduates. After completing our six-month Program, Graduates are prepared to become contributing members to their communities and to their workplaces, and to support their families. Hear what Graduates say about their experiences:
