Poisonberry is a dark, moody band blending Afro-Caribbean, Indigenous, and German sounds with metal. Born at a bakery and fueled by rage, our music is rooted in resistance.
We are excited to share our music with you at the Band Factory Showcase on December 13th and we are SO ready to raise funds for Lehigh Valley Girls Rock (LVGR)!
LVGR is dedicated to empowering cisgender girls and women + nonbinary and transgender folks through music and art. The funds we raise during Band Factory go directly towards Get LOUD! Camp, a week-long empowerment camp based on being in a rock band open to cisgender girls + nonbinary & transgender youth ages 10-17. Campers learn how to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song together, and then perform their song at a *real* concert for their family, friends, and future fans. Get LOUD Camp isn't a typical music camp though! The week largely focuses on feminism and inclusion. LVGR aims to build self-confidence and foster a sense of belonging while nurturing a supportive, encouraging environment. Many of the workshops and group activities include topics such as self-care, social justice, and community building.
All donations help make camp happen. Every little bit helps with camper scholarships, art supplies, instrument repairs, volunteer stipends, and so much more!
Please consider donating to our band and supporting the girls, non-binary + transgender youth in our community. 🖤
