Mission Trip to Guatemala
If you know me, then you are well aware that I have a love for experiencing new cultures and founding relationships with new people. In each of my recent travels, my eyes have been opened wider and wider. One thing I know very well is how lucky and blessed we are as a people in the United States. It has been on my heart to both share what we have and learn from new perspectives. I couldn't be more excited that God has presented me with this opportunity to serve those who may be less fortunate in Guatemala alongside Grace Fellowship.
The trip is scheduled to span from March 6th - March 13th, 2026. I will be serving with a team from Grace Fellowship (Latham) headed to Guatemala with our ministries CCJ and Brazos Abiertos (Open Arms). The focuses of these groups is to provide a safe place where children in their community can have a nourishing meal, forward their education, and learn to be Christ-like. The ministry leaders and coordinators are still finalizing the specific acts of service that we will complete to help the children and families in San José Pinula. While hunger is a challenge that faces the community daily, we expect to serve at the feeding center for children. We may also distribute gifts to the children and their parents and offer “blessing bags” to families in their homes as a way to share the love of Christ with each of them. Community outreach days are another way to bring kids together for a time of fellowship and much more. There is a possibility that we may help build out a new space they have been donated. Our group is intentional about maintaining flexibility and embracing the unexpected, so that we may meet the needs of the people which are presented to us. We pray that in all these endeavors, our love for Jesus will be seen and that we may bring these children and families to know God.
Completing my application for this trip has been a venture of faith for me. Our team is asking for your prayer for our strength, stamina, boldness, love for the people that we encounter, joy in serving whatever the job may be, and confidence in God’s plan for our time abroad. I ask that you also consider partnering with me financially. The cost of this trip is estimated to be $1,900 and any donation, big or small, will help us serve the people in Guatemala.* From the United States, it is hard to imagine the experiences of the people there. A little goes a long way in these communities where water, electricity, food, and shelter may not be abundantly available.
I am really excited to make an impact in Guatemala!
