Eiley's Birthday Fundraiser!

Eiley is excited to celebrate her 7th birthday with Engage Globally. Her mom, Emily, has volunteered on Engage's Board of Directors for many years. This year, Eiley would like to share her birthday to help seven-year-old Rahima, pictured above, to continue her education. Rahima, and 400 other children, attend Engage's community schools in rural Northern Ghana. Students live in traditional villages where educational opportunities are very limited. A $30 birthday donation in honor of Eiley will provide a month of a child’s education including a very important lunch to improve nutrition. Students also receive a uniform sewn by Engage's vocational training students. Rahima's school provides very valued jobs for mothers who work as cooks, graduates of Engage's youth education program who become teachers, and caretakers who live in the community and who never had a chance to attend school. On average, each staff member supports a family of ten other people - meaning that donations have a community transforming impact! 

Eiley and Emily chose Engage because of their long-term commitment to community-led sustainable development and their work with children and families living below $2 a day. In areas of extreme poverty like this, birthday donations really make a big difference.
