This is the team page for BTS Providence Girls for the virtual marathon!
Every year, members of Beat the Streets Providence run the Providence Marathon to raise money and increase our visibility in the community. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the marathon was cancelled this year. We are running anyway, because we're just that tough.
On May 24th at 7 am, our BTS Girls team is going to lace up and get some road work in. Please consider either joining our team and running (or walking) any distance comfortable for you or donating below! Here is why your support is so important to us right now:
Support Our Student Athletes
Please consider making a donation in support of their endeavor to bring awareness to our cause; and to help increase the impact of our organization on the youth of Providence.
Funds will be used to continue to support the hundreds of student athlete we work with as well as our staff during these difficult times. We remain committed to promoting physical fitness, healthy living, academic achievement, and character development for our youth. We have developed and are implementing engaging home-based programming for our students, families, and coaches. These include:
- The Beat the Streets #MillionMinutesChallenge, a friendly competition between Beat the Streets Cities to keep our kids physically active.
- Instagram Live workouts led by U.S. National Wrestling Team Members
- Weekly enrichment activities via our social media channels (reading incentives, art contests, technique videos)
- Providing resources, communication and guidance to our partners, coaches and mentors
- Finally, where needed emergency support to our students and their families
