The 2020 Flora Apple Queen Pageant Stage

The Flora Apple Queen Pageant was founded in 2016 as a form of pageantry focused on character building and community service.  Now in it’s 6th year, the Flora Apple Queen Pageant has more than tripled in participation with 75 girls from the Flora School District competing in 6 different divisions ranging from age 2 to age 21.  Once crowned, each of the 6 Queens will spend their annual reign working events throughout the community in an effort to give back and raise awareness towards charitable causes.  From serving breakfast to our Veteran Heroes to passing out cookies and hot cocoa to children waiting in line for Santa, the passion of our Queens to serve others is always on full display. In addition to community events, the Flora Apple Queens will represent Flora in 8 different parades from Halloweens and Fall Festival parades in October to Christmas parades in December.

2020 On-Stage Check Presentation to Nancy Mills & the Clay County Cancer Crusaders.2020 saw the Flora Apple Queens, through the generosity of the community, raise over $23,000 for charitable local programs such as the Clay County Cancer Crusaders, the Flora Academic Foundation, Disabled American Vets, Maura's Mission, Shop with a Cop, as well as the Flora Elementary Food Bag Program for underprivileged and hungry children.  In a poverty-stricken community that includes an alarming 73% of its students on free or reduced lunches, our humble small town needs all the help it can get.  The Flora Apple Queens are dedicated to providing leadership and solutions to helping those in need.  Our goal is to teach our young women that no matter the age, or your size, or your past....it only takes 1 person to make a difference.  We build character, we build strong young women, and most importantly we build productive future citizens rooted in a community of Faith, Love and Selflessness.
