Saving Howler Monkeys with Belen

Over the past year, TRR has received 15 howler monkeys, including babies and adults, victims of electrocutions, dog bites and orphans. Electrocution injuries were so severe in some cases that babies survived only weeks or days.

Despite having 20 years of experience in wildlife rescue, receiving these animals was a challenge as it is a species that Toucan Rescue Ranch had never worked with before. By sharing our experience with other species, seeking a lot of information and putting in a lot of love and energy, we made the troop grow bigger and stronger every day, teaching them the skills necessary for successful re-wilding.

TRR, which already has a successful Save the Sloths Together program, has begun a long and arduous journey, initiating the Save the Howler Monkeys Together program. This beautiful project will allow many other monkeys to be rehabilitated and reinserted into their habitat, always counting on the help of our valuable donors. With your kind donation, we will be one step closer to having the tools necessary to assist in the conservation of an iconic species, part of our national identity.
