On October 25th I will run the Marathon Corps Marathon in support of The Grassroots Project!
In light of recent events, it’s clear we need to empower and support American youth, our next generation of leaders. We need to support students in high-need areas, in their communities, and our schools in pursuing better health. We need a proactive and compassionate rising generation who will advocate for health equity and disease prevention.
The Grassroots project (TCP) does exactly this!
TCP is a DC-based organization that provides health literacy and social empowerment programs to teenagers. They recruit and train NCAA student-athletes to serve as volunteer health leaders for high-need DC middle schools. Athletes deliver health education curriculum on topics such as nutritional health, mental health, and sexual health. TCP strives to promote health equity and inspire teens to live healthy lives. As a former NCAA student athlete and aspiring public health leader, I couldn't think of a better cause to run 26.2 miles for!
My goal is to raise $500 to benefit this amazing organization and every little bit helps! Let the training and fundraising begin!
Thanks for helping support this cause :)
