On May 7th, I will be riding in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in support of the Marty Lyons Foundation (MLF). MLF grants wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 who have been diagnosed with a life threatening or terminal illness. MLF is one of the only wish granting organizations that will grant a second wish to a child whose condition has worsened. With your help we can make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.
As some of you may know, my grandparents, Bill and Pat Gibney, were heavily involved in the creation of the Marty Lyon's Foundation and later founded the South Carolina Chapter. In 2015, Marty and the Board decided to recognize the impact my grandfather had on the Foundation by renaming the MLF Lifetime Achievement Award in his name. At the Annual Golf Classic tournament, the newly named award was presented to Mr. Rudy Giuliani by my grandmother, Patricia Gibney, as she was surrounded by many members of the Gibney family.

The "Marty Lyons Foundation" was something all of the grandchildren were aware of from a very young age, proud supporters in our original MLF green tee-shirts. Our grandparents left a huge void in the lives of those who knew them. They were very well accomplished in the careers, passionately supported charities and above all raised 8 wonderful children I'm proud to call my Aunts and Uncles.
The legacy continues with several family members volunteering for the foundation across the country including Gail in FL, Mesa in NY and my Mom, Laura, in Texas.
I am very excited to be biking with Team MLF and I am honored to continue my family's involvement with such an amazing charity.
