Grassroots Fundraiser for:

Seeds of Harmony!

Mission

Seeds of Harmony's mission is to Care for the Earth, Care for the People, and Share the Bounty. We will achieve this by empowering our tribal communities to practice and maintain a sustainable and healthy way of life while learning from and teaching about our local ecosystems as well as fostering respect and care for our watersheds.

Seeds of Harmony has received a Community Organizing Grant from the Peace Development Fund and all of the money raised from this fundraiser will be added to that grant to help support their organizing in 2022.  Give today to support Seeds of Harmony!

Request

Your support will help with our mission to care for the Earth, care for the people, and share the bounty. We will initiate watershed planning/protection/stewardship, and rainwater harvesting from roofs and on the land through earthworks. We will build the Permasis (Permanent Oasis) Family Farm that will focus on food security, seed saving, building the soil, demonstrating Holistic/regenerative agriculture practices and water harvesting. We will implement rammed earth building to accommodate for our changing planet and rising temperatures. We will help the community to write conservation/grazing management plans which are prerequisites for land use and grazing permits.

Can you share a story of one of the leaders in your organization and how they’ve made a difference in their community?

"We live on the Navajo Nation and many citizens face daily challenges with basic survival. Our team all contributes to better our community. Our Executive Director, Melinda O'Daniel, has been instrumental in helping 4 Navajo families reclaim land use court orders for ancestral land use, which is required by the Federal Government.  Our board frequently delivers food to those in need, checks on the elderly and has been instrumental in helping establish gardens for the community members and teaches about soil health, gardening, watershed health, and rainwater harvesting. We are initiating a watershed planning process to help combat climate change."
